What inspired you to want to start your own home-baking business? What advice do you have for those looking to start their own at home-baking business?

I didn't really plan to start a home-baking business, it just kind of happened. I was baking for friends, and then friends of friends started to ask how they could get one of my cakes, and my demand just continued to grow. My biggest advice for anyone who wants to start their own baking business from home is research. Every state has its own rules on selling baked goods from home, establishing a small business and on health safety regulations. Getting insurance is also crucial. I recommend getting all of your ducks in a row to ensure that you're properly set up for success.

What are the top 5 cooking ingredients every baker should have in their pantry at all times?

Butter, flour, sugar, eggs, and salt. These ingredients are in almost everything I bake.

All of your creations look absolutely amazing. Which one(s) has been your favorite to make?

My favorite cake to date was the giant cobra cake I made this summer. It was a pretty big stretch for me since I rarely make sculpted cakes or work with fondant, but it was a blast trying out some new techniques and challenging myself.

What is one thing you haven’t made yet that you are hoping to make?

My wedding cake! I'm getting married next summer, and I cannot wait to make our wedding cake. I know it sounds crazy, but I've been dreaming about my wedding cake for years.
