What are some ways that people can stick to their goals in the new year when it comes to eating healthy?

There are so many ways to stick to healthy habits!

First things first, start small. Your willpower is a limited, finite resource, so pick a habit that’s easy and fits into your daily routine with minimal adjustments needed.

Second, make your new habit realistic. For example, instead of committing to working out for an hour five days a week, plan for three 20-minute sessions. Instead of meal prepping every Sunday evening, you can subscribe to a healthy meals subscription box, like Snap Kitchen.

Third, build slowly. Don’t get discouraged if you slip up. Just know that progress is progress, and if you don’t “make it” that day, keep in mind that your goal isn’t going anywhere, and you can start again tomorrow.

Fourth, be patient! Rome wasn’t built in a day and the same goes for your healthy habits. The holidays and winter time can make it difficult to stick to your healthy living goals. The building blocks of creating healthy habits are four-fold: cue, craving, response, and reward. Without that, it can be hard to keep up the motivation to continue building on those healthy habits. With Snap Kitchen, we’ve designed our meals to be comforting and nourishing at the same time, so you can enjoy perfectly-portioned ready-made meals while also satisfying your cravings.

Plus, they’re super convenient. We know that when it comes to creating healthy habits, it’s often easier to grab quick food or junk food, just because it’s so readily available. That’s why we’ve made Snap Kitchen just as convenient. Healthy meals in a snap, ready when you need them most.

How can healthy eating help people prioritize both their physical and mental wellness?

Your body is a delicate ecosystem, one that requires care, nourishment, and balance. Without that, so many things can fall out of whack. Our choices can contribute to either a positive or a negative feedback loop. By eating a healthier diet, you’re setting yourself up to experience higher energy levels, improved digestion, and increased immunity, plus a boost in your everyday mood. And as an added bonus, that increased energy and overall feeling of wellbeing makes it easier to do the things you need to do, too.

Many scientists have even linked a healthy diet with a decreased risk of depression and anxiety.

In the winter time, and especially during the pandemic, people tend to spend most of their time inside. What are some ways that people can balance their diet at home?

We recommend focusing on building your plate in a balanced way. That means lots of veggies on your plate, plus high-quality protein and healthy fats. You can still leave room for other foods, but the base of veggies, protein and healthy fats should always stay relatively constant. This combo will keep you full and satisfied, meaning fewer trips to the kitchen searching for processed, unhealthy snacks. By focusing on nourishing ingredients first and foremost, you can keep cravings at bay and maintain steady energy throughout the day.

At Snap Kitchen, we use a rotational menu. That means that we’re always coming up with comforting, nourishing dishes — some with our chefs’ family recipes that have been passed down for generations, using ingredients that are more seasonally-available and relevant.

This means that by getting us delivered directly to your home, we can be your partner in health; your go-to healthy comfort food dinner; your breakfast on the go; your busy work lunch solution. After all, the best way to make your new healthy habits stronger is by surrounding yourself with a positive and supportive community.

Plus, we deliver to your home on a weekly basis, so you can incorporate mindfulness into your everyday nutrition without getting hung up on the details that take away time from your already busy day like shopping, chopping, cooking, cleaning.
